Obituary

Funeral Mass for Javier Alvarado, 50, of Cotton Center will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Hale Center with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Mr. Alvarado died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at his residence in Cotton Center. He was born April 27, 1960, in Durango, Mexico, to Thomas and Elisia Alvarado. He married Maria Salinas on Oct. 24, 1981, in Cotton Center. He lived in Cotton Center for 30 years and worked for Tommy Joines on his farm. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife; one son, Christopher Alvarado of Cotton Center; two daughters, Alma Alvarado of Austin and Christina Alvarado of Cotton Center; his father, Thomas Alvarado of Durango, Mexico; six brothers; four sisters; and four grandchildren.
