Obituary

Funeral services for Manuela Alvarado, 70, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Templo Sinai with the Rev. Ignacio Soto, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. A celebration service will be at 6 p.m. today at the church. Mrs. Alvarado died Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Bloomfield, N.M. She was born July 17, 1938, in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Bridigo and Francisca Gonzales. She married Isabel Alvarado in 1985. He died the same year. She was a homemaker and a member of Templo Sinai for many years. Survivors include fours sons, Jesus Severo Carrasco of Odessa, Juan Carlos Vasquez of Ojinaga "OJ," Chihuahua, Mexico, and Martin Gonzales and Cruz Gomez, both of Plainview; six daughters, Blanca Madrid, America Gabriel Sanchez and Juanita Vasquez, all of OJ, Chihuahua, Araceli Urquidi of San Angelo, Liliana Gomez Valdez of Bloomfield, N.M., and Gabby Frausto of Irving; two brothers, Epifanio Gonzales of Chandler and Saturnino Gonzales of Midland; one sister, Maria Gonzales Lopez of La Mula, Chihuahua; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her husband; one daughter, Manuela Landeros; four brothers, Juan Gonzales, Cassimiro Gonzales, Tiofolo Gonzales and Dimas Gonzales; and two sisters, Pascuala Gonzales and Gregoria Quiros, are deceased.
