Obituary

Funeral Mass for Preston Alonzo, 92, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Teresa's Catholic Church with the Rev. John Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mr. Alonzo died Thursday, April 27, 2006, in Legends of the Plains Nursing Center in Hale Center. He was born Jan. 4, 1914, to Dianicia and Bardomiano Alonzo in Mexico. He married Santos Tenorio in 1937. She died May 2, 1978. Surviviors include three sons, Fernando Alonzo of Plano and Jason Alonzo and Alvin Alonzo, both of Hale Center; two daughters, Juanita Pineda of Hale Center and Frances Alvarez of Plainview; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. His parents and a sister, Francisca Alonzo, are deceased. The family suggests memorials to Advanced Home Health and Hospice, 4208 19th St., Lubbock TX 79407.
