Obituary

Memorial services for Jeanne Thomas Allen, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Hale Center with Dr. Carroll Green officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mrs. Allen died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, in Kingsport, Tenn. She was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Hale Center to the late Hobby Thomas Sr. and Walta Luttrell Thomas. She graduated from Hale Center High School and Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. She lived in Iowa and New Mexico before returning to Hale Center in 1965. She was a librarian for the Hale Center Public Library for 27 years. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rick Kuehnast of Natick, Mass., and Hobby and Linda Kuehnast of Amarillo; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jane and Steve O'Brien of Houston and Carol and Rich Ryland of Kingsport, Tenn.; one brother, Hobby Thomas Jr. of Hale Center; one sister, Millie Armstrong of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
