Allen, Alvin Howard, Mrs. (Gladys)

ABERNATHY ? Funeral services for Gladys Allen, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wilcox, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Abernathy Cemetery by Abell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at The Shirley House in Lubbock.

She was born Sept. 23, 1912, in Pope County, Ark. She farmed in the County Line area until moving into Abernathy in 1985.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Lubbock China Painting Club, Texas Porcelain Arts Club the Alamo Porcelain Art Club.

On Dec. 24, 1930, she married A.H. Allen in Lubbock County. He died Aug. 18, 1984.

Survivors include a son, Dorman Allen of Abernathy; two daughters, Barbara Scott of Abernathy and Vaughdeen Meier of Littlefield; a sister Juanita Wright of Friona; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A son, Duane Allen, died in 1932.
