Funeral services for Mildred "Jackson" Alexander, 68, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Beard Chapel Methodist Church with the Rev. Homer Pacely, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mrs. Alexander died Saturday, June 22, 2002, in Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Liberty, Miss. She received her degree at Rust College in Mississippi and worked for the Plainview Independent School District as a teacher at Booker T. Washington. She also was secretary at Austin Heights School. She was a member of Beard Chapel Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Anthony and Robert Alexander, both of Plainview; one daughter, Jeanette Alexander of Plainview; two sisters, Lois Ann Williams and Annie Mae Williams, both of Plainview; two brothers, Tommy Lee Jackson of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Alton Jackson of Plainview; and four grandchildren, Kallmba Hudson, Kyra Russell, Jeremy Alexander and La Quenda Alexander, all of Plainview. Two brothers, Mac Jackson and James Jackson Jr., are deceased.
