Obituary

OLTON - Louise Ahrens, 91, of Olton passed away Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 7, 2011, at First United Methodist Church in Hale Center with the Rev. Michael Holmes of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Littlefield officiating. Burial followed in Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center. Arrangements were under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Louise was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Center Plains in Hale County to John and Dora Schoonvelt. She graduated from Hale Center High in 1938. Louise married Henry on April 24, 1948, in Thrall, Texas. She and Henry farmed in the Cotton Center and Olton areas since 1953. They moved to their farm outside of Olton in 1969. She was a member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Ahrens; her parents, John and Dora Schoonvelt; and four brothers, Joe Schoonvelt, Henry Schoonvelt, Ivy Schoon?velt and Johnny Schoonvelt. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Davis and husband, Alan, of Hale Center; two sons, Wes Ahrens and wife, Janice, of Danville, Calif., and Robert Ahrens and wife, Cindy, of Hale Center; one sister, Ann Schoonvelt of Plainview; eight grandchildren, Amy and Chris Rowzee, Brad Ahrens, Andrea and Brian Bennett, Jennifer and Rob Sukhija, Brandon and Debbie Ahrens, Lindsay and Matt Grannon, Matt and Jaimie Davis and Clint Davis; and five great-grandchildren, Gavin Rowzee, Katie Bennett, Jasmine and Nate Sukhija and Avery Ahrens.
