Obituary

Funeral Mass for Josie R. Aguilar, 62, will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Alice Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McCartney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday in Bartley Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Aguilar died Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005, in University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born May 12, 1943, in Una, Colo. She was a certified practical nurse and a certified nurse's aide. She worked at the old Plainview Hospital in 1960, Hale Center Nursing Home in 1991, and Care Inn of Plainview in 2001. She enjoyed crocheting and painting and was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Isaias and Marie Galvan and Noah Galvan, all of Plainview; a daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Ray Covarrubio of Hale Center; a brother, Jose Borrego of Corpus Christi; a sister, Theresa Rodriguez of Plainview; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her friend and former spouse, Clemente Galvan Jr. Her mother, Juanita Alanis, and her stepfather, Frank Alanis, are deceased.
