Obituary

Funeral service for Jose "Joe" Aguilar, 63, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Genesis Baptist Church with the Rev. Raul Morales officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home.A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in Lemons Memorial Chapel. Mr. Aguilar died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, in Highland Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Robstown. He attended Genesis Baptist Church. Survivors include a close friend, Carmen Vera of Plainview; two daughters, Elsa Kendrick of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Angela Aguilar of Denton; a son, Joe Aguilar Jr. of San Juan, Puerto Rico; five brothers, Frank and Robert, both of Denton, Jesse and Luis, both of Plainview, and David of Lubbock; four sisters, Connie Plascencia, Delia Larralde and Sylvia Sauceda, all of Plainview, and Sara Rivera of Denton; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 2606 W. 10th.
