Obituary

Minister Susan Lowe Lowery, 72, departed this earthly world and entered heaven's gates on May 7, 2021. Funeral services will be held at First Assembly of God in Plainview, Texas on May 15, 2021 at 10 a.m. A visitation will be held at Bartley Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 5-7 p.m.

Minister Susan Lowe Lowery was born on September 5th, 1948 in Plainview to Willie Lee Lowe and Carla (Henrietta) Lowe. She married Clarence L. Lowery on August 28, 1964. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and most importantly a servant of the Lord who accepted Christ as a child. She loved the Lord with all her heart! She loved to praise the Lord, study the Word of God, share the Word of God wherever she would find herself, be it the grocery store, gas station, restaurant, driving down the street, the front yard no matter what, you were going to hear something about Jesus!

She went to Booker T. Washington School, Class of 1967 and she attended Wayland Baptist University. She worked at the Plainview Hospital as a Night Ward Clerk. After the passing of her father, she took over her parent’s family restaurant business “Lowe’s Drive In aka The Malt Stand. She retired from Plainview Independent School District.

She loved to travel, pray, lift others spirits, make people smile and she never met a stranger – ever! She was unique and different in a million ways. Not another individual like her anywhere.

In February 1983, the Lord gave her PrayerBand Ministry of which she carried on until May 2021. She held vacation bible school in her front yard for the children in the community. She was President of Young Matrons-Women’s Mission and held numerous offices within the church and was part if the Ministerial Staff at Grace & Mercy Deliverance Church in Dallas, Texas.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents; Willie Lee Lowe and Carla (Henrietta) Lowe, her husband; Clarence Lowery, and her sister Jo Ellen Smith.

She is survived by and leaves to cherish her three daughters, Jacqueline Lowery of Lancaster, Texas, Cleo Lowery Pittman of Mesquite, Texas, and Beverly Lowery-Nickerson of Lancaster, Texas. Honorary son; Bishop Marcus Popkins, Sr. (Lady Michelle) of Cedar Hill, Texas.

Susan was blessed with 4 granchildren; Bryson Lowery, Aaron Pittman, Adrian Pittman, and Lynece Pittman, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friend, brothers, and sisters in Christ!
