Obituary

Sheila Jean Nash, 69, of Plainview, Texas, passed from this life and entered heavens gates on September 16, 2020. Funeral services will be held at First Assembly of God in Plainview on September 25, 2020 at 1 p.m with Apostle David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.

Sheila Nash was born in Stanford, TX to the late Curtis James and Bobbie (Lockett) Nash on August 5, 1951. Sheila attended Booker T. Washington and Plainview High School. She also attended North Texas Job Corps in McKinney, Texas. Sheila was a receptionist for Dr. H. Harvest for many years before attending Nursing School upon completion. She worked and Sun Loan and Western Finance Companies. Sheila married Tyrone Coleman and one daughter was added to that union.

Sheila was a caring and loving mother and friend. She was well known and loved in the community. At a young age Sheila attended Emmanuel COGIC under the tutelage of Bishop E.N. Givens. She then attended Good Samaritan Church of God under the tutelage of Mother Essie Givens. She loved to sing in the church. In years passed she held prayer meetings in her home. Sheila enjoyed doing hair and helping others.

She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Sheila is survived by her children; Patrick Nash (Kristi) of Plainview, Texas, Nathan (Bridget) of Casa Grande, Arizona, Thifiney Willis (Frank) of Casa Grande, Arizona, her siblings; Doris Thomas of Fort Worth, Texas, Carolyn Applin of Stanford, Texas, Curtis Nash (Doretha), Velma Thompson (Curtis), Dorothy Green (Don), Sabrina Uddley, all of Plainview, Texas, Harold Uddley of Midland, Texas, Malcolm Nash (Rose), of Amarillo, Texas, Trevina Willis and Akiba Nash of Denton, Texas. Sister in laws; Carlene Coleman Willis of Plainview, Texas and Debra Filmore (Jesse) of Arlington, Texas, brother in laws, Dwight Coleman of Plainview, Texas, Ben Coleman (Brenda), Bobby Coleman of Plainview, Texas, and Curtis Coleman of Marietta, Oklahoma. Sheila was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sheila is preceded in death by her parents; Curtis James Nash and Bobbie Lockett Nash. Jack Uddley, a grandson; Brentodd Wooley, two nieces; Dorinda Nash and Robyn Smiley, a sister; Youlanda Ann Uddley Nash.

Cherish the memories of our mother, for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
