Obituary

Ruth Sansom Jackson-Storey was called home to glory on September 8, 2020. Ruth and her twin brother, Ruben was born on September 27, 1934 to Revered Timothy Sansom and Cordie Simpson-Sansom in Alvarado, Texas. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands Mr. Abner Daniel Jackson and Mr. Frank Storey, her sisters Virgie Lee Johnson, Altha Lee Sansom, and Amanda Bernadette Brown and her brothers Timothy Jr., Earnest, and Ruben.

Ruth and her family moved to Plainview Texas in 1949. She attended Booker T. Washington. She worked many years as a nursing assistant at both Central Plains Regional and Nichols Hospitals. In 1980, Ruth found love and married Mr. Abner Jackson moved to Abilene, Tx. Until his death in 1991. Afterwards she moved back to Plainview met and eventually married Mr. Frank Storey. In 2003, Ruth moved to Albuquerque, NM where she completed her GED and earned a degree in Business Administration. In 2013, Ruth moved back to Plainview to be near her extended family and friends. Family and friends will always remember Ruth’s very strong-willed personality paired with her loving and generous heart. Although Ruth had one daughter, she cherished and immensely loved each and every one of her nieces and nephews as if they were her very own. She was loyal, a confident, a prayer warrior and a best friend.

Ruth leaves to mourn her loving daughter, Ella Regina Jackson-Lewis of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her brother, R.T. Sansom of Plainview, Texas. Her grandchildren Jonathan Saxon Lewis and Jasmyn E’Vashia Clements of Albuquerque, New Mexico and her great-grandchildren Zedekiah O’Neil and Zerenity Patrice Lewis of Albuquerque. One brother-in-law, Bennie Roy Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico and one sister in law, Christine Sansom of Alvarado, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends.
