Obituary

Sasha Q. Loe, 41, of Plainview, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 2, 2020, after a brave battle with a terminal illness. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Sasha was born on August 25, 1979 in Amarillo, Texas. She was raised in Lubbock, Texas, and attended Christ the King Cathedral School and Estacado High School where she graduated and was named Valedictorian in 1997. In 2001, she graduated from Texas Tech University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. Sasha earned her master’s degree in counseling in 2010 at Wayland Baptist University. Sasha loved children and helping others. She channeled her passion into her career and worked as a family and child therapist until she became unable to do so.

Sasha was the light of her family. She dearly loved her two younger sisters and cousins and served as an example and inspiration to them. Sasha cherished her immediate and extended family including beloved aunts, uncles, and grandparents. She enjoyed dancing, reading, listening to music, attending concerts, traveling, and spending time with friends.

During her last year at Texas Tech, Sasha studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, and fell in love with the country and culture while exploring the region and neighboring Portugal. Her adventurous spirit brought her back to Spain in 2011 when she hiked a portion of the Camino de Santiago with dear friends.

Sasha will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, and kind soul who was very spiritual. Those that knew and loved her will miss her greatly.

Those left to honor her memory are her parents; Virginio and Sylvia Ortega of Plainview, her sisters; Vanessa Ortega of Houston, Texas, and Sara Ortega of Denver, Colorado, grandmother; Francis Ortega of Spearman, Texas, grandfather; Vicente Loe Jr. of Bovina, Texas, and grandmother; Sara Quirinio of Amarillo, Texas.
