Elmer Joe Houston, 80, of Olton, passed from this life and entered heaven on May 13, 2020. A
private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of
Bartley Funeral HomeElmer was born on September 10, 1939 to Elmer Francis and Dorothy Aycock Houston in WhiteMound, Texas. Elmer was a graduate of Olton High School. He was employed in the PartsDepartment at Thompson Chevrolet, as a farmer, and as a trucker. Elmer was later employed bythe Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Choice Moore facility in Bonham, TX. Hemarried Patty Davison on August 12,1988. Elmer was a member of the Olton Volunteer Fire Department and a founding member of the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Association. He enjoyed fishing, shopping at flea markets, and watching sports. He loved to cook and collect cookbooks. Elmer will be remembered as a loving father, husband, and friend. He will be deeply missed.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters Dana Paraskevas and her husband Bobby of Watauga, Texas and Denise Hasha and her husband Steve of Olton, Texas. Elmer is survived by grandchildren Brady Scoggin and wife Ashlie of Hallsville, Texas; Brittnee Parkey and husband Josh of Olton, Texas; Shanna Tims of Trophy Club, Texas; Kristin McKay and her husband Evan of Bedford, Texas; and Brooke Paraskevas of North Richland Hills, Texas. Elmer is also survived by great-grandchildren Zane, Roper, Payge, Noelan, Macee, Maddox, Rhett, Vivienne, Tyler, and Peter. Two special friends; Don Russel and family of Plainview, Texas and Thad Weems and family of Honeygrove, Texas. Numerous cousins who will miss him dearly.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Francis and Dorothy Houston, and his wife
Patty Houston.
