Obituary

Apollonio "Paul" Medina was called home by the Lord February 10th, 2022, in Plainview, Texas. He was born February 9th, 1933, in Franklin, Texas to Jesse and Manuela (Salazar) Medina.

While attending Anton High School, at 17 he was drafted into the United States Army and without hesitance, he proudly served his country. To his dying day, he talked about his military service and his desire to have served more years. When he returned, he continued where he left off to take care of his parents and younger siblings. Paul loved his family and "no" was not in his vocabulary; when his family needed his support, they could always count on him. He considered all of his nieces and nephews like children of his own. His humor was awesome. His kindness was like no other. Always optimistic. He enjoyed wrestling, country music, and watching the movies of the singing cowboys of yesteryear. He quoted John Wayne and Gene Autry plenty of times.

Paul is survived by his nephew David Medina from Irving, TX and Josie Nunez from Farmers Branch, TX, whom he helped raise; two sisters: Herminia Pulido of Plainview, TX and Mary Louise Lopez of Hale Center, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he cherished dearly.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Manuela Medina; three sisters: Odelia Medrano, Juanita Garza, Marciala Alanis, and two brothers: Frank Medina and Lupe Rodulfo.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home
