Obituary

Anthony Ray Acosta, 20, of Plainview passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bill Anton officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, September 9, 2022 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.

Anthony was born May 4, 2002 in Lubbock, Texas to Rogelio and Araceli Acosta. He lived his life in Plainview, Tx. Becoming a member of the National Guard in 2018. He was assigned as a small arms and artillery repairer and was ranked as a specialist. He received the national defense service medal and Army service ribbon. While attending Plainview High School he was apart of accapella for four years, which lead him to win many medals and awards. While he enjoyed singing, he also loved playing the guitar and piano. He enjoyed photography with his fiancée Megan Brown while he was head of the yearbook club. On his free time, he enjoyed learning how to cook. His specialty was hamburgers and steaks, he swore they were better than his dads. He had a passion to solve rubix cubes, which he mastered in under forty-seven seconds. He also loved legos. He would buy all kinds of different sets and had fun building them. Anthony Ray Acosta was a very giving and noble person. While being sarcastic and often making jokes and at times annoying his loved ones. He had his own unique personality as different as he was he was loved by many. Not one person was like him. As he once said “He was here for a good time not a long time.”
