Tom was born in Amarillo, TX on December 18, 1938 to Lawson and Bernice Parker Adamson. He spent his childhood living in California, Tulia, and Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1958. He and Francis married on November 6, 1964 in Amarillo, then spent some time in Amarillo where Tom got his college education. Later, Tom and Francis took their young family to a farm near Shamrock, TX, where they raised their boys in a true West Texas manner. Eventually they settled in Plainview in 1990 to finish the last few years of their teaching careers. After retiring from teaching, Tom started a second career as a real estate agent. Following his second retirement, he managed their rental property and spent his later years watching his extended family grow while covering as many miles as possible in the RV.

Most important for Tom was the love of his life, Francis, his wife of 57 years. Together they raised two boys through love and patience who became great fathers through Tom’s example. The constant in Tom’s life was the kindness with which he treated everyone. Our lives and community are better because of his time among us. He will be greatly missed.

Tom is survived by his wife Francis Simpson Adamson, son DeWayne and wife Beverly of Greer, SC, daughter-in-law Elise of Plainview, grandsons Brian of Dallas, TX, Matthew of Greer, SC, Kevin and wife Jaimie of Warr Acres, OK, and Parker of Waco, TX, and twin great grandsons Theodore and Liam of Warr Acres, OK. He is preceded in death by son David in 2021 and grandson Mark in 1996.
