Obituary
Reyes "Sonny" B. Alonzo, 80, of Plainview went to be with his Lord on July 31, 2022. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
Sonny was born on December 31, 1941, in Sonora, Texas. He married the love of his life, Armandina, on June 24, 1961, in Plainview, Texas. Sonny owned and operated his auto repair shop for over 25 years. His natural ability to repair and assess problems extended well beyond the repair shop, it overflowed into his family, friendship, and the community. He loved sports, especially rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. He cherished spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but most of all, he enjoyed making long-lasting memories. A selfless, caring, loving, and patient man, he was the foundation and support for family and friends, never one to turn his back on someone in need. He will always be forever loved and adored by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his spirit and light shine bright and forever lead the way.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents; Ray Alonzo, and Luther and Maria Rodriguez, mother-in-law; Guadalupe Cabrera, sister-in-law; Hortencia Alonzo, and one granddaughter; Angella Chavez.
Sonny is survived by his wife Armandina, children; Cindy Chavez and husband Adam of Plainview, Texas, Anthony Alonzo and wife Monica of Victoria, Texas, Tanya Carrera of Plainview, Texas, and Brian Alonzo and wife Marisol of Lubbock, Texas. His brothers and sisters; are John Alonzo, Margie Chavez and husband Adan, Corina A. Salazar, Bobby Alonzo, Otillia Granado, Sylvia Hernandez, twelve grandchildren, and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
