Obituary

Wilma Faye Wells, 94, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Jim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park.

She was born on September 16, 1927 in South Texas to Willard Cecil & Winnie Jewel (Schooley) Wright. Mrs. Wells graduated from Cotton Center High School. She married Thomas Edwin Wells on December 4, 1946. She attended Wayland Baptist College where she played basketball for the Flying Queens for a year. Wilma enjoyed sewing, ceramics, reading and made the best chocolate cake. Mrs. Wells retired from the Goodarts Candy Company in Lubbock. She was a member of Monterey Baptist Church in Lubbock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom Ed Wells; her daughter, Jeanette Steward; her son, Jerry Wells and her sisters, Dorothy Scott and Joyce Davis.

Wilma is survived by one son, Bobby Wells & wife Patty of Graford, TX; son-in-law, Gary Steward; grandchildren, Kim (David) Shaw, Michael (Amy) Steward, Jeremy (Kristen) Wells, Ben (Allison) Wells, Crystal (Kris) Armes, Catherine (Darren) Peterson, Christian Wells; great grandchildren, Mason & Palmer Steward, Thomas Shaw, Jon Shaw, Jarek Wells, Kasen Wells, Landry Wells, Lillie Wells and Elin Armes.
