Obituary

Maria Acosta Garcia, 88, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Bill Anton and Father Raymundo Manriquez officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery.

A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Garcia was born on May 27, 1934 Mexico. She married Benito F. Garcia, Sr. on March 21, 1952 in Raymondville, Texas. They moved to Plainview in 1958 where they made their home. Mrs Garcia previous worked @ Wayland Baptist University as a housekeeper for one of their dorms. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she served as a Crusillista and a Guadalupana and was very active.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benito F. Garcia, Sr.; two daughters, Belinda Pena and Raquel Garcia Galvan and one son-in-law, Bobby Rodriguez.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Isabel Rodriguez; three sons; Lionel (Angie) Garcia, Benito Garcia Jr. and Robert (Irma) Garcia all of Plainview. As well as 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
