Obituary

Donald L. Eversole (88) of Plainview, Texas died April 28, 2022, in Plainview. He was born August 28, 1933, in New York City, NY to Lloyd and Alvina (Blesser) Eversole.

Don graduated from Avon Lake High School in Avon Lake, Ohio. He briefly attended Miami University (OH) before entering the United States Air Force. He served as a pilot in the USAF for 22 years. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma. After retiring from the USAF, he was an Associate Professor at Wayland Baptist University for 20 years.

In February of 1958, he married Margaret (Peggy) Holman in Lake Charles, LA. They were married for 40 years before her death in 1998. He married Edna Richardson in December of 2003 and was married for 18 years before her death in 2021.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Plainview where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Salvation Army Board and Lion’s Club. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

Don is predeceased by his parents, two sisters-Rita Van Horn and Jane Kelly, his wives, and his grandson Brian Eversole Brown. He is survived by his five children: James (Amy) Eversole of Dolores, CO, Jean Eversole of Glen Allen, VA, Janet (Bill) Brown of College Station, TX, Judith Eversole of Oklahoma City, OK, and Julie (Brian) Barnes of Nolensville, TN. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Monday, May 2, 2022, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at Kornerstone Funeral Directors, 3605 SW 3rd, Plainview, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with burial following in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
