Obituary

Virginia "Sue" Ragland, 96, was born April 16, 1925 to Lemmie & Mackie Ragland . She was the youngest of a loving family of 2 brothers & 5 sisters. Her family's fervent Christian faith has been a strong legacy to following generations. Sue attended school at Lakeview & graduated from Petersburg High School. After the return of her fiancée from World War ll, she married James Roy Rambo in 1945. They farmed in the Petersburg, Hale Center, & Comanche, Texas areas. They had 4 children: Danny, Diane, Dennis, & Suzanne.

Sue was widowed in 1964. She later married Ralph Boyd, living in Petersburg for several decades. She was active in her church & loved her many friends in several communities. In her final years, she lived in Refugio, Texas near her daughter, Suzanne, & son, Dennis. She eagerly awaited heaven to see Jesus & her loved ones.

She died peacefully on Friday, August 20, 2021, and is now in the presence of our Lord & Savior.

She is survived by her children, Diane (& John) Sorrell, Dennis Rambo, Suzanne (& Todd) Steele, & Charles (& Betty Ann) Boyd; her grandchildren: Scott Sorrell, Cammy Sorrell Taylor, Emily Steele Lunde, Clancy Steele Gonzales, Stephen Boyd, Catie Boyd Kemp, Brandon Boyd and numerous greatgrandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husbands, son Danny, & Gwen Boyd Hastings.

A private family graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.
