Bobby Shipman, 74, and Kitty Myers Shipman, 72, of Plainview passed away three days apart and were reunited together in Heaven with their Savior. Kitty passed on August 14 and Bobby passed on August 17. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

Bobby was born on December 13, 1946 in Plainview, Texas to Fred, Sr. and Leota Shipman. He grew up in Plainview and attended schools there. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Thailand during the Vietnam War. After his service, he lived in Dallas for some time. Bobby moved back to Plainview in the early 1990’s. He was a mechanic for many years and worked for several different shops in town.

Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Shipman. His survivors include his daughter, Carrie Dawn Thompson of Dallas; brother, Fred Shipman, Jr. and wife Emilie of Clifton; sisters, Linda Dyann Shull and husband Melvin of San Angelo, Betty Imogene Davis of Oklahoma City; and three grandchildren.

Kitty was born on December 12, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to Lawrence and Kaye Myers. Kitty grew up in the panhandle of Texas and in Wichita Falls and in Plainview. She lived in Hong Kong during her husband’s service in the U.S. Navy. She returned to the states and lived in Mountain Ranch, California for many years. She worked in the grocery industry and worked as a butcher and cashier. She eventually moved back to Plainview where she worked for Plainview Overhead Door for many years.

Kitty was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Denny; and brother Mason Myers. Her survivors include her son, Brian Moore and wife Kerri of Fernley, Nevada; and her grandchildren, Alissa, Ryan, Halei, Jake, and Reagan.

Bobby and Kitty both enjoyed bowling and in fact, that is how they met. They were also members of the Hi Plains Gem and Mineral Society and enjoyed collecting. They married on March 16, 1996 and celebrated 25 years of marriage. Anyone who knew Bobby and Kitty know their passion was to serve others and to show God’s love and compassion through service. They were proud members of Harvest Christian Fellowship and served the church in many capacities but their favorite was to serve in Kid City.

In lieu of flowers, the families suggest memorials to Harvest Christian Fellowship, 4411 Olton Rd., Plainview, Texas 79072
