Brigitte Leigh Graves McGann, 47, of Hale Center was called home on Thursday, July 8, 2021. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Plainview First Assembly with Justin Thompson, Pastor of His Place Fellowship in Paris, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
Brigitte Leigh was born on November 19, 1973 in Dumas, Texas to Gordon and Janice (Rasco) Graves. She went to South Plains College and graduated with her bachelor of education degree from Lubbock Christian University. She married Brian McGann on April 9, 1993 in Littlefield, Texas. Faith, family, and friends were important to her along with Coca-Cola, naps, vacations to Cloudcroft, and trips to the lake with family and friends. Brigitte spent 22 years as a teacher at Hale Center High School. Every student was considered her child and she was fondly referred to as the “school mom.” She wanted every student to be included and feel valued. Fondest memories include her being an active parent and teacher assisting with FFA livestock events, high school cheer sponsor, basketball score keeper, and assisting with transportation of band equipment. Her latest memory was spending time with family and especially her granddaughter Hadley, who was the light of her world. She took great pride in sharing the accomplishments of her husband, children, and grandchild. Brigitte was the matriarch of the family following the passing of her mother-in-love taking great pleasure in planning family gatherings.
She is survived by her husband, Brian of Hale Center; two sons, Troy and wife Tina and granddaughter Hadley of Spade, Tyler of Hale Center; her parents, Gordon and Janice Graves of Spade; her father-in-love, Bobby McGann of Levelland; her brother, Clay Graves and wife Hallie of Shallowater; a sister-in-love, Brittany Honesto and husband B.J. of Odessa; brothers-in-love, Brad McGann of May, Brandon McGann and wife Keziah of Tallahassee, FL, Justin Thompson and wife Jami of Paris; nephews and nieces, Lilah, Ellie, Collins and AC Graves, Donovan McGann, D’Nae and Jaxson Honesto, Jace, Julia and Jared Thompson. She is preceded in death by her mother-in-love Nelda Conaway McGann
