Obituary

Maria Juana Vega, 74, passed away on July 14, 2021. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Poonely officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.
A rosary will be held 6:00 P.M. Friday, July 16, 2021 at the funeral home.

Juana was born on November 1, 1946 in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose Vega, Sr and Epifania (Vasquez) Vega. Juana loved working on word search puzzles, traveling with her family and doting on her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She loved watching her Green Bay Packers. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview.

Juana was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jose Vega, Jr.

Survivors include her six sisters, Felicita Vega of Plainview, Amelia Sanchez & husband Raul of Plainview, Teresa Machala & husband Edward of Dallas, Maria F. Smith of Amarillo, Isabel Vega of Amarillo and Beatris Vega of Amarillo; three brothers, Manuel Vega & wife Debbie of Canyon, Carlos Vega & wife Melva of Amarillo, Alberto Vega & wife Shelly of Wylie.
