Obituary

Loretta Marie (Peugh) Kelm, 84, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held Tuesday evening, April 6, 2021 from 6 to 8 P.M.

Loretta was born on February 22, 1937 in Big Spring, Texas to Martin Obie and Allie Fern Peugh. She grew up in Knott, Lonestar, and Edmonson Communities. She attended and graduated from Abilene Christian University. Loretta married Donald T. Kelm on December 22, 1965 in Plainview. She was an elementary teacher for many years and taught in Lonestar, Plainview, and Olton Schools. Loretta had a gift of artistry and was very creative and loved to use those skills to educate others. She loved music, to sing, and she loved art of all kinds. She even made doll furniture for her daughters. She was a former Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. She loved her kids and her school kids fiercely and she taught them with patience and kindness. She was a member of the First Christian Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald T. Kelm; and brother, Phillip Martin Peugh.
