Obituary

Werner Leo Boedeker, age 90 took flight to his heavenly home on April 8, 2021. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating and Michael Heckman and Steve Olson assisting. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

He was born on September 3, 1930, in Briscoe County to Leo and Lucie Boedeker He attended Plainview schools then went on to Plainview High for two years after which he farmed in that very vicinity for the rest of his life only to take a break to serve his country in the U.S. Army in Germany.

He married Thelma Baker in Providence and they have been married 30 years.

Werner was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Providence for seventy years after which he became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plainview.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lucie Boedeker, a brother, Eugene Boedeker and a sister, Ruth Smith.

He leaves behind his wife, Thelma Boedeker of Plainview; a brother, Ervin Boedeker and wife Kay of Plainview; his children, Alfred Boedeker and wife Jamie, Patricia Chambers and husband Jerry, Jimmy Boedeker and wife Tobi, Regena Boedeker, all of Plainview; three same as daughters, Linda Scott and husband Danny of Lubbock, Kay Hooper and husband Rickey of Plainview, Ann Cherry and husband Kevin of Lubbock. Werner and Thelma have been blessed with eleven grandchildren and twenty-four precious great grandchildren.
