Obituary

Valerie Ivy, 73, of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Hale Center Cemetery in Hale Center, Texas. Burial is under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A visitation will be held Friday evening, April 16, 2021 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone.

Val was born on October 27, 1947 in Stamford, Texas to W.B. and Ivy Lassetter. She married Danny Ivy on July 27, 1968 in Stamford, they moved to Hale Center in 1974. She was a busy mom with her work at Hale Center High School and Hi-Plains Hospital as well as following her boys and Danny to ball games, stock shows and FFA conventions. She moved to Lubbock and worked at the Texas Tech Health Science Center and taught at South Plains College, School of Nursing. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hale Center and a member of Living Water Emmaus.

Val was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, David Lassetter.

She is survived by her two sons Jon Ivy and his wife Minde of Greenwood, Texas; Kevin Ivy and his wife Courtney of Shallowater, Texas; and the lights of her life, her grandchildren, Jaleigh Ivy, Kenley Mae Ivy, Ryker Ivy and Rylan Ivy.
