Obituary

Evelyn Marie Henegar Castleberry passed away on January 25, 2021 in Plainview, Texas. No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors.

Evelyn was born February 20, 1930, in Hale County, Texas near Plainview. She was born the third child of Dennis Fleet and Mabel Ophelia German Henegar. She was married on June 14, 1947 to Thomas Earl Castleberry of Hale County, Texas and remained married for 65 years until his death on March 19, 2013. Brothers Harold Edwin, Marvin Russell have preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Dewetta and her husband Wally Glazier of Escondido, California and Dannette and her husband Trendon Darryl Carter of Plainview, Texas. One sister, Mattie Luella and her husband Wendell Williamson of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado. Ten grandchildren, Troy Glazier of Temecula, California, Sheila and her husband Joshua Murch of San Marcos, California, Latasha Combs of Spokane, Washington, Wendy and her husband Ross May and Leigha Valenzuela of Lubbock, Texas, Trendon Carter, Matthew and wife Emilie Carter, Amber and her husband Ryan Hembree of Plainview, Texas, Tristen and his wife Sierra Kay Carter of York, England and Maddisyn Faith Carter of Plainview, Texas. She is further survived by ten great-grandchildren, Broc Glazier of Parris, California, Seth Glazier of Lowell, Arkansas, Audrey Glazier of Temecula, California, Jeremy Murch and Brianna Murch of San Marcos, California, Jacob May and Journey May of Lubbock, Texas, Kyle Carter, Brooklyn Hembree and Gavin Hembree of Plainview, Texas and many, many nephews and nieces of all whom she loved greatly.

Mrs. Castleberry was a Sunday School Teacher, Bible Teacher, Seamstress and Homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was to share her faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She was a resident of San Diego County, California for 52 years until moving back to Plainview, Texas in December 2013 where she resided until her death. She was a member of Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido, California for many years.
