Obituary

Reynulfo Renteria, Sr., 93, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Kornerstone Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

A come and go visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the funeral home.

Reynulfo was born on May 19, 1927 in Donna, TX to Felipe and Micaela Renteria. He married Ernestina Elizondo on April 25, 1948 and she passed in 1988. He later married Esperanza “Hope” Ybarra on November 18, 1989. He worked in construction and was a pillar in the community. He built many of the roads in and around Plainview. He loved being outdoors and staying busy. He was an engineer and built many things.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ernestina Renteria; four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Esperanza “Hope”Renteria; two daughters, Lydia R. Villanueva of Hereford, Emily Renteria of Ft. Worth; four sons, Reynulfo Renteria, Jr. and Odilia of Lubbock, Ricardo Renteria and Janie of Plainview, Armando Renteria of Plainview, Ruben Renteria and Corrina of Plainview; three sisters, Refugia “Cuca” Silva of Mesa, Arizona, Margarita Reyna of Edinburg, Sofia Hernandez of Pacomia, California; ten grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
