Obituary

Chad David Jordan Luera, 30, gained his wings on Sunday, November 1, 2020. Chad was born on January 1, 1990 in Plainview, TX to Raul and Sylvia Luera. He was a shining light who touched the lives of people all over the world through his compassion and bright humor. Chad is best known for his love of Korean pop music and culture, his love of weather and storm chasing and his ability to connect to each and every person in a special way.

Chad’s friends, families and loved ones remember him as the confidant – who always had an ear to lend, the eternal optimist- who had an unwavering belief in the beauty of the world. He was their personal computer/tech support, and was known for the most incredible sense of humor and absolute sass.

With Chad, a dull moment never existed. From his personality to his clothes and matching hair and accessories, Chad’s bright colors will never fade away.

To honor Chad, the family requests that only bright colors in his favorite hues of blue, turquoise, and pink be worn to his service.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 9, 2020 at Harvest Christian Fellowship with Pete Flores officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emilio and Clara Jimenez and his great grandmother, Asuncion (Mama Chonita) Bustamante.

Chad is survived by his parents, Raul and Sylvia Luera of Hale Center; a brother, Raul E. Luera of Hale Center; two sisters, Krystal Luera of Plainview, Allison Luera Marquez of Katy, TX; grandparents, Pete and Angie Arriaga of Crosbyton; nieces and nephews, Jaicei and Jaidyn Luera of Plainview, Kyden Rodriquez of Plainview, JayLeigh and Jayston Marquez of Katy, Raider and Emilie Luera of Hale Center, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Fly high Chad-D!
