Obituary

Elmo Cowart went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 10, 2020. Services for Mr. Cowart will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, August 14, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church. Viewing will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Lemons Funeral Home from 12:00PM until 8:00PM. Interment will be at Plainview Memorial Park at 3:00PM. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Elmo was born in Olton, Texas, May 22, 1928 to Henry Cowart and Irene Dayton Cowart. Elmo married Fritzine Steinfeld November 28, 1963.

He graduated from Olton High School; Lipperts Business College; he received his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree from Wayland Baptist University. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He worked in many jobs, but his greatest love was teaching. He taught at Kress High School; Lipperts Business College; South Plains College and Wayland Baptist University.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Patricia and Bonnibel and one son Malcolm P. Cowart.

He is survived by one daughter, ViTricia Martin and husband Bryan of Wolforth, two sons Nathan Cowart of Plainview; Andrew Cowart and wife April of El Paso; daughter in-law Angela Cowart of Clovis; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
