Obituary

Guillermo “Willie” Garcia, 59 of Plainview, passed away on September 29, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 2, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Marcus Flores of Faith Christian Fellowship officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Willie was born on December 25, 1960 in Acuna, Mexico to Pedro and Maria Guadalupe (Aldaco) Garcia. He graduated from Willard High School in Willard, Ohio in 1980. Willie married Avilia Lujan on August 11, 2011 in Plainview, Texas. Willie was a good son, father, husband and friend. He encouraged everyone around him and was a great leader. He cherished his kin and was happiest when surrounded by his large family. He hosted cook-outs where his family and friends would feast on a buffet of food while he played music and danced. His joyful and giving spirit will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife, Avilia Lujan Garcia of Plainview; one son, Derrick Garcia of Plainview; two daughters, Daisy (James) Edwards of Canadian, TX and Dawna (Hayden) Hook of Claude, TX; four step-sons, Leonel (Crystal) Vasquez, Martin (Sabrie) Villegas, Angel D. (Adela) Martinez and George R. Martinez all of Plainview; three brothers, Pedro Garcia II of Plainview, Gilbert and Hector Garcia both of Del Rio, TX; one sister, Maria Luisa Garcia of Del Rio; his former wife, Darlene Garcia of Plainview; five grandchildren and ten step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Jesus Garcia.
