Obituary

On Saturday, August the 1st, 2020, Jesus Olivas Casas, beloved son, brother and uncle passed away at the age of 65. Born on July 30th, 1955, in the height of summer, he truly brought the sun’s rays into all the lives he touched. Jesus was a natural leader & mentor and inspired those around him with his stunning good looks, incredible charisma, unparalleled intellect, and just plain old hard work. When Jesus entered as an enlisted cadet in the Army as a young man, he quickly made Officer, and that was a perfect example of his work ethic. No job was too small and no task was too large when he set his mind to it. Jesus loved to sing and could soften the toughest of hearts and bring praise and joy to those that needed it the most. Jesus was also a great cook and enjoyed nourishing loved ones with his hearty portions of food. He was infamous for having a great sense of humor, being a jokester, and lovingly teasing his nieces and nephews.

Jesus was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Olivas and is survived by his siblings, Sandra Hinojosa & Ruben Olivas from Plainview, TX, Olga Olivas & Irma Merino from California, and dozens of adoring nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Burial of cremains will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.
