Obituary

Porfirio "Pilo" Rodriguez, 66 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00PM on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Pilo was born June 17, 1955, in Saginaw, Michigan to Felix and Josefina (Alamia) Rodriguez. He married Esperanza Mata on September 6, 2021. He was a truck driver for 30 years. He was also a flea market vendor for many years. He enjoyed going to garage sales and bowling.

Pilo was a caring and loving family man who loved spending time with his family. Especially his close brother, “Chevo”. He enjoyed picking up his grandkids and taking them to Allsups for a snack run or surprising them with a bucket of KFC. He loved his daughters and sons very much. He was passionate about making sure their needs were met.

Pilo is proceeded in death by his parents; one sister, Olivia Navarro and son-in-law, Raymond Cisneros III.

He is survived by his wife, Esperanza Rodriguez; as well as his children from a previous marriage: three sons: Porfirio Rodriguez, Jr. of Dallas, Chris Rodriguez of Bonham, Anthony Rodriguez of Plainview; two daughters: Melissa Rodriguez Peña (Oscar Molinar) of Plainview, Ashley Rodriguez (Joel Fernandez) of Hale Center; four brothers: Felix Rodriguez, Jr.(Ofelia), Eusebio Rodriguez (Diane), David Rodriguez (Melba), Jesus Rodriguez; nine sisters: Josephine Salas, Rosa Rodriguez, Maria Luisa Gutierrez (Vicente), Crestina Rodriguez, Paula De La Cruz (Guillermo), Delilah Rodriguez, Estella Valdez, Belinda Balderas and Ester Rodriguez. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pilo never met a stranger, as he would give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by his wife, family, and friends.
