Obituary

Wallace Jackson, 62, of Albuquerque, formally Plainview, departed this earthly life and entered heaven's gates on January 18, 2021. A funeral service will be held at Bartley Memorial Chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 6-8 p.m.

Wallace Lee Jackson, affectionately nicknamed, “Anky” was born on January 31, 1958, entered eternal rest as he slept. Born to the late Herbert Lee and Betty Jackson in Plainview, Texas, Wallace attended Plainview High School. He was passionate about his Dallas Cowboys, detailing cars, was caring and compassionate to his family and others. Both shy and humorous, his laughter was infectious. Clothed with a tender heart Wallace was a selfless man, beloved husband, father, brother, and so much more to everyone who graced his presence.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years WillieMae and one daughter Jasmine Jacklyn Jackson (mother, Bridgette Leyba), Wallace lovingly raised three more daughters and three sons he called his own. They are, Courtney Crandell, Petrita Leyba (Robert) Dominquez), and Jessica Leyba (Chris Wheat), all of Albuquerque. DeAhtry Wideman of Ft. Worth, Hershey Wideman of Plainview, and Peter (Leah) Leyba of Albuquerque. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters and three brothers. Edith Jackson Dunn of McKinney, Sheilah Jackson of Houston, and Donna (Norman) Jones of Grand Prairie. Andrew (Rhonda) Jackson of Plainview, Ned Jackson of Olney and Herbert (Margie) Johnson of Sallis, MS.

He is preceded in death by his late parents and three siblings: Tina Jackson McKelvy, James Edward Jackson, Mary Lee Johnson and late brother in-law, Fred Washington Dunn. He is further preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents respectively, Andrew and Edith Powelland James and Estelle Jackson. The Wallace Jackson legacy includes six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives, and friends.
