Obituary

Alvin Millican, 72, and a life long resident of Plainview, passed away on July 11, 2020, surrounded by family. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00AM Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Larry Mizell officiating. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Alvin was born on June 10, 1948 in Plainview, Texas to Henry L. and Juanita June (Elder) Millican. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1968. Alvin worked for Furrs Food in the late 70’s. He went to work for the City of Plainview in 1981 and retired in 2009 after 28 years of service at the water plant. He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching westerns, the Dallas Cowboys and was a huge Elvis Presley Fan. Alvin also enjoyed making people laugh.

He is preceded in death by his mom and dad. Alvin is survived by one brother, Bill Millican of Plainview; one sister, Mary Halcomb and husband Ike of Plainview; three nephews, John Haley and Brandon Millican of Plainview and Christopher Halcomb and wife Shannon of Amarillo; three great nieces and four great nephews. He considered his close friends as family and thought all people were a blessing. Memorial contributions can be made to your favorite charity.
