Obituary

Mary Cerbantez, 82 of Hale Center went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 20, 2020. A Graveside Memorial Service will take place at 2:00PM, Friday, October 8, 2021 in Hale Center, Texas officiated by Reverend Jeremy Trull. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Mary was born on June 22, 1937 to David and Guadalupe Ramirez in Bastrop, TX. She was raised in Elgin, TX where she met the love of her life Alejandro M. Cerbantez. They married in Happy, TX on June 24, 1956. They were married for 49 years until the passing of her husband in 2006. Mary was a homemaker all her life and raised 16 children. She loved to cook, sew, and enjoyed her morning coffee. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Hale Center, TX. Mary was loved deeply by her children and family and will be greatly missed by all.

She is proceeded in death by her husband: Alejandro Cerbantez; great-granddaughter Mila Rose Trevino; Brothers: Raymond Ramirez, Margarito Ramirez, Natividad Ramirez, and Johnny Ramirez; and a sister: Patsy Lyendecker.

Mary is survived by 16 children, 5 sons: Johnny and Gloria H. Cerbantez of Plainview, TX; Alex and Beverly Cerbantez of Canyon, TX; Jessie and Rosemary Cerbantez of Clovis, NM; Richard and Jennifer Cerbantez of Hale Center, TX; and David and Jennifer Ann Cerbantez of Hobbs, NM. 11 daughters: Elizabeth and Catarino Esparza, Jeannie and Jaime Mendoza, and Christina Gamez all of Plainview, TX; Carolyn Cerbantez and Efrin Chavez of Big Springs, TX; Jeanette and Andres Gamez and Brenda Mendoza; Rosemary and Isidro Rodriguez all of Hale Center, TX; Linda Trevino of Childress, TX; Rebecca and Augustine Martinez of Dumas, TX; Yolanda and Flavio Castillo of Lubbock, TX; and Florinda Cerbantez of Cotton Center, TX. 68 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
