Obituary

James Garcia, 59 of Plainview, Texas passed away on March 16, 2020. Services for Mr. Garcia will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview with Joe Barrera officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Garcia will lie in repose from 12-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lemons Funeral Home.

James was born July 25, 1960 in Beeville, Texas to Oscar S. and Carmen Garcia. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1980. James married Brenda Chapa on November 10, 1986 in Plainview. He worked at United Supermarket as produce manager for 26 years. He loved restoring and racing muscle cars and enjoyed riding motorcycles and ATV’s.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Garcia of Plainview; one daughter, Valerie Espinosa and Keith Owens of Plainview; five grandsons, Skylar and Brennon Espinosa and Matthew Resendes all of Plainview, Jordan and John Abel “Baby John” Espinosa of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Morgan and Kalissa Espinosa of Lubbock; one great granddaughter, Aniyah Rose; three brothers, Oscar (Hope) Garcia of New Deal, Leonard (Marcela) Garcia of Plainview and Robert Garcia of Waco; two sisters, Janie (David) Cantu of Acampo, CA and Carmen (Keith) Garcia-Lovell of Plainview. He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, John Abel Espinosa.
