Obituary

David Barrientez, 77 of Petersburg, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o’ clock in the afternoon on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Albert Wise, Hospice of the South Plains Chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow in Petersburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 o’ clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Barrientez will lie in repose from 12-8 o’ clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview.

David was born on January 21, 1942 to Juan and Maria Barrientez in Karnes City, TX. He married the love of his life Amelia Trevino Rendon; they were happily married for over 52 years. David was a welder most of his life and even did some underwater welding before moving to Petersburg. One of his favorite hobbies was tending to his yard and garden. David loved being outdoors and always kept himself busy. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Julio and Frank “Pancho” Barrientez.

David is survived by one daughter: Carol Alvarez and husband Lupe of Petersburg; one son: Augustin Gonzales of Petersburg; two brothers: Ernest Barrientez of Denver City, TX and Juan Manuel Barrientez of Karnes City, TX; two sisters: Yolanda Villa of Midland and Mage Trinidad of Robert Lee, TX; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
