Obituary

Ben Gonzales, 76 of Plainview, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’ clock in the morning on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel with Pastor Steve Martinez, Trinity Life Church, officiating. Mr. Gonzales will lie in repose from noon until 8 o’ clock in the evening at the funeral home on Monday. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Ben was born on November 15, 1944 in Rotan, Texas to Cristobal and Candelaria Martinez. He married Vickie Hill in 1978 in San Antonio, Texas. Ben was a farmer for 30+ years. He retired in 2017. He enjoyed yard work, fishing, cooking, and having BBQs. Ben was also a crafts and handyman.

Ben was preceded in death by his Parents; and a son: Stacy Brown and several brothers and sisters.

Ben is survived by his wife, Vickie; three sons, Joe Brown and wife Regina of Plainview, Christopher Gonzales and wife Daniela of Hale Center and Jeremy Gonzales and wife Lidia of Lubbock; seven daughters: Barbara Gonzales of Plainview, Candy Peña and husband Joe of Japan, Misty Torres and husband Ernest, Krystal Maroste and Justin Rodriguez, and Cosandra Gonzales all of Plainview, Brenda Mendoza and husband Chachi of Hale Center, Kasey Calderon and husband Justin also of Plainview.

Ben is also survived by two brothers, Gilbert Gonzales and wife Velma of Austin, and Richard Gonzales of San Angelo; one sister, Nellie Mendez and husband Fernando also of San Angelo.

Ben was a wonderful Husband, Father, Papaw, Brother and Friend. Sweet memories will remain of him, ones that will never end.
