Obituary

Amelia Gomez Rodriquez, 88 of Lubbock, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021. Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Plainview with Father Bill Anton celebrating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o' clock in the evening on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Lemons Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Amelia was born on May 30, 1932 to Jose Lara Gomez and Antonia Martinez in Mertzon, TX. She married Manuel Mendoza Rodriquez and they were happily married for twenty three years until his passing on January 27, 1979. Amelia was a homemaker who loved and cherished her family very much. She was the most loving and caring person you would ever meet. Amelia was also a woman of God. She remained extremely active in the church and was a Guadalupana, lector reader, and Eucharist Minister. She was always more than willing to give anyone a blessing or pray for them on the spot. Amelia was known by many and will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter: Mary Rodriquez; three brothers and three sisters.

Amelia is survived by seven sons: Jenaro, Justino, Emilio and wife Virginia, Ruben Rodriquez all of Lubbock, Pedro Rodriquez and wife Diana of Palestine, TX, Isidro Rodriquez and wife Crissy of Amarillo and Rey Robles of San Angelo; two daughters: Soledad Marsh and husband Rusty and Yolanda Masucci and husband John Anthony all of Lubbock; thirty six grandchildren forty one great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
