Obituary

Plainview - Gloria Smith, age 69, of Plainview, passed away at her home on October 26, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview.

Gloria Jean Smith was born on December 21st, 1951, in Gary Indiana to Clarence and Alice Biddle Hobgood. She married Wiley Wilford Smith on August 8th, 1971. She had two children Kirk Phillip Smith and Kittreena Lee Smith, Gloria held multiple jobs with the Plainview Independent School District when she was younger. As well a food service supervisor for TDCJ, where she retired. She enjoyed singing and would sing anytime she could. She also enjoyed spending lots of time with her family. She left from this life to join her lord and savior on October 26th, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, and beloved husband. She is survived by her sister Susan Green Gray of Dallas, son Kirk Smith and wife Celeste of Plainview, daughter Kittreena Smith and husband Bennie Smith of Plainview, six grandchildren, Kevin Perez and wife Shannan stationed at JBLM, Washington, Britny Perez of Plainview, Quinten Smith and wife Deeanna stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, Kathana Smith, Kaiden Smith, Gage Smith of Plainview, and four great- grandchildren, KJ Perez, Raven Perez, Bentley Perez and Gene Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
