Mr. Harris died on Friday, January 20, 2023.

A.C. was born on April 24, 1939 in Tecumseh, OK to Alfred Cecil and Elizabeth Mae (Cook) Harris, Sr. He attended and graduated from Abernathy High School where A.C. was a state qualifier in track. He served in the US Navy enlisting June 12, 1958, until June 9, 1960. He married the love of his life, Doris Jean McKeown on November 13, 1961 in Shallowater, TX and together, they shared over 52 years of marriage together. A "jack of all trades", A.C. was an avid fisherman and woodworker, took great pride in his yard and stayed active growing his vegetable garden each year. He was an airplane mechanic/engineer, owned Ace Welding Services and later worked for Thompson Implement where he retired. A.C. and Doris did everything together including camping in their travel trailer in Colorado and hosting friends and family at their cabin in Possum Kingdom Lake, holding many lake records for the large catfish that he caught in his boat, the O.S.B. A.C. found a love of trap shooting, and with Doris by his side supporting him, he qualified for State competition. They loved cooking, dancing, and serving others as they both served as paramedics and EMT's for the Abernathy EMS Department. Known by many for his whistling, A.C. also coached Little League and served on the Abernathy City Council. He loved his grandchildren dearly.

He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Harris in 2014, and siblings Johnny, Maxine, and Gerry.

A.C. is survived by his dog Tucker, daughter Julie Powell and husband Ricky, of Abernathy, son Jason Harris and wife, Kim of Wharten, TX, 3 grandchildren Bryant Powell, Jace Powell, and Emmy Powell.

The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
