Obituary

James “Smitho” White Jr. Departed this earthly environment surrounded by his huge family on December 31, 2022 at 2:07 pm.

Wake/Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bartley Memorial Chapel, 1200 South Interstate I-27, Plainview, Texas.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 1001 W 7th St, Plainview, Texas.

Smitho was born to James White Sr. And Arlene White in Plainview Tx. On October 28, 1970. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.

Smitho leaves to cherish his memories: His Fiancé LaReisha Yarbrough, his brother, Ron White, his sisters, Sharon “Kaye” White, Stepfany Cass (Karl), Joyce Carter (Jerome), Trina White, and Pamela Jackson.

His Children: Shanquita, Kiera, Tevin and Kaeley

His Grandchildren: Jamiyah and Brooklyn.

Smitho attended Palo Duro High School in Amarillo Tx. He was also under the tutelage of Bishop J. Riles with our beloved Aunt Cindy and Uncle Larry Woods during his time at Greater Love Community Church. Smitho really loved calling his siblings as frequently as possible. He loved his children/ grandchildren. He also loved traveling, but; “if he could not drive, he did not want to go at all”. Smitho was the peacemaker and did not like conflict at all. He cherished our large family gatherings, and we considered him to be our “people person”. He had a beautiful way of connecting people together. He loved music and dancing and a “good time" overall. He loved to cook and serve those whom he was cooking for. He took care of others in any way he could. Smitho was a natural Nurturer and will be greatly missed by his close family and friends.
