Obituary

Arturo Antunez, Sr., 57 of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Viewing for Mr. Antunez will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 2:00pm and Prayer Service will begin at 6:30pm at Lemons Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Lemons Memorial Chapel officiated by Pastor Victor Hernandez of Iglesia Bautista del Carpintero, Hale Center. Interment will follow in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Lemons Funeral Home.

Arturo was born in Garciasville, Texas to Herminio Antunez and Candelaria Ramirez on May 22, 1965. He was a loving father and a caring friend. He was reliable and hardworking. Anyone that knew him knew the kind of heart he had. Whether playing pool with his grandkids or just joking with family, there was never a dull moment with him around. He was someone that could light up the room and always thought of others before himself.

Arturo will be remembered not only for his good deeds but also for how big his heart was.

Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, Herminio and Candelaria Antunez, one sister, Sylvia Barrera and one brother, Mario Antunez.

He is survived by his two sons: Kevin Antunez (Guadalupe) and Arturo Antunez, Jr.; one daughter, Sarah Menchaca (Dallas), all of Plainview; two brothers: Raul and Herminio Antunez of Washington; two sisters: Rosario Lopez of Hale Center and Teresa Lopez of Cotton Center; and twelve grandchildren.
