Obituary

Máximo (Max) V. Maldonado, loving husband and father passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20th, 2022.A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 26, 2022 at Kornerstone Chapel in Plainview, Texas. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview, Texas.

A visitation will be held 12:00 P.M. Monday, December 26, 2022 in the Kornerstone Chapel.

Max was born on October 21, 1937 in Albuquerque, New México to Jesus and Guadalupe (Vargas) Maldonado. He married Gloria Estrada on May 14, 1959 in Romita, Guanajuato, Mexico. Together they raised four daughters, Susie, Diana, Toressa, and Nelly.

Max’s hobbies were wood working, working on cars and motors and working on electronics. He worked for Wylie Manufacturing as welder and pump mechanic for many years, before coming to Wylie’s, Max worked in farming. Max was member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Petersburg, Texas. He served as deacon and later as an elder.

Max is preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Gloria, his daughters, Susie (Mario) Martinez, Diana (Roble) Mireles, Toressa (Matthew) McLarty and Nelly (Danny) Salaz. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Daniel (Logan)Martinez, Geraldo (Anna) Martinez, Lorena (Mitch)Williams, Adrian (Lindsey) Mireles, Adam Mireles, Emily (Mario) Segura, Alyssa Moralez, Phillip Moralez, Orlando Marquez and 11 great grandchildren. Also survived by four brothers, Jesus, David, Pedro, Fabian Maldonado and two sister’s, Rosaura Cabello, and Maria de la Luz Maldonado.
