Andres was born December 22, 1956, to Juan Sanchez and Josepha (Arenas) Sanchez in Lockney, Texas. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Garcia on October 14, 1982, in Plainview, Texas. Together they would pray every night. She took care of him and was always by his side. They had 2 beautiful daughters, Geneva Marie, and Sabrina Lee Sanchez. He loved and adored them and was so proud of them both. Many years later, he and Sylvia were blessed with 3 grandchildren, Randy Andrew and Sarina Rosas, and Angelo Sanchez, who then became their world.
Andres worked for the City of Plainview for 16 years. In 1998, he received the Benevolence Award. He volunteered with the Special Olympics for 2 years helping coach and driving their bus. They all loved him! He was a loyal, humble, trustworthy servant of God and was always considerate of others. He always had a positive word and believed that “with God, everything is going to be ok.” Andres enjoyed doing mechanic work and working outside, most importantly he loved the Dallas Cowboys!!
Andres was a man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He held countless cookouts at his home where everyone was welcomed, and he loved having family reunions. He enjoyed fishing, especially with his nephews and dancing. He would call his nieces, nephews, and siblings on the weekends just to check up on them. They knew when the phone rang early on Saturday or Sunday, who was calling and if you didn’t answer, you could expect to hear a voicemail from him. Those calls will be missed.
Andres is survived by his wife, Sylvia Sanchez; 2 daughters: Sabrina Lee Sanchez (Mike Lucero) and Geneva Sanchez; 3 grandchildren: Randy Andrew and Sarina Rosas and Angelo Sanchez all of Plainview; 1 brother, Rudy Sanchez (Maria) of Altus, OK; 3 sisters: Josefina Rodriguez of Plainview, Ramona Nuñez (Ricardo) of Hollis, OK, Lupe Castillo (Juan) of Foley, AL; 2 special nieces: Brenda Davis (Coy) of Lockney, whom he raised and Mary Rose Cedillo (Pedro) of Plainview, whom he grew up with, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters: Juana Luna, Margarita Castañeda, Manuelita Lopez and Maria Garces, and 6 brothers: Valentin, Bernabe, Anselmo, Juan Jr., Frank and Casto Sanchez.
