Obituary

Yvonne "Bonnie" Lucero, 68, of Hale Center, died Thursday, February 10, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Jerusalem Community Baptist Church, in Hale Center, with Pastor Terry Wright, officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, at Ramage Funeral Directors, in Hale Center.

Yvonne was born November 10, 1953, in Plainview, Texas, to William Sr. and Doris (Stone) Lucero. A lifetime Hale Center resident, Yvonne was a member of the Church of the Valley. She looked forward to and enjoyed the yearly visit to Hale Center by Evangelist Paulino Bernal. She also enjoyed picking up cans around town while riding her tricycle. Most important to Yvonne was time spent with her family and always joking around with her nieces and nephews.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, William Lucero, Sr and Doris Lucero and a sister, Patricia Botello.

Survivors include her son, Robert Lucero and his wife Teresa of San Antonio, a brother, William "Bill" Lucero, Jr. and his wife Sabrina of Hale Center, four sisters, Sylvia Payne and her husband Johnny of Amarillo, Esther Perkins and her husband Rodney of Amarillo, Sandra Martin and her husband Tony of Lubbock, and Christine Stevens of Amarillo. She was blessed with six nieces and nine nephews.
