Veronica Montemayor Escobedo, 45, of Midland and formerly of Hale Center, died Sunday, November 28, 2021, in Midland, Texas. Memorial services will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 2, 2021, in the Family Center at Ramage Funeral Directors in Hale Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Family Center at Ramage Funeral Directors, with Pastor Chris Craig of Western Heritage Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will follow at Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors.

Veronica was born April 20, 1976, in Hale Center, Texas, to Richard Montemayor and Mari Leija-Garza. She married Alfred Escobedo and they had lived in Midland for 12 years. Veronica worked as a medical office assitant for 12 years and attended Mid-Cities Community Church in Midland. An avid sports and football fan, Veronica enjoyed shopping, makeup, and was a talented interior designer. She was self-less and always put others before herself, often serving as caregiver to those in need. Veronica loved getting together with her family and she lived for her children and grandchildren. Gone too soon, Veronica will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Angelo Quinn Perez, her maternal grandfather, Severo Leija, her paternal grandparents, Pedro and Senaida Montemayor, her uncle, Antonio Alvarez, and her mother-in-law, Maria Escobedo.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Escobedo of Midland, five sons, John Matthew Figeroa of San Marcos, Patrick Lee Figeroa of Midland, Ryan Escobedo of Midland, Andrew Escobedo of Levelland, Favian Escobedo of Austin, and one other biological son, three daughters, Destini Ledesma of Kerrville, Ashley Escobedo of Levelland, Christina Escobedo of Levelland, and two other biological daughters, her father, Richard Montemayor of Dallas, her mother, Mari Leija-Garza of El Paso, her maternal grandmother, Maria Leija of Kerrville, two brothers, Jesse Trevino of Austin and Elias Leija-Garza of Greenville, and four sisters, Belinda Montemayor, Brandy Montemayor, and Maricella Montemayor, all of Plainview, and Whitney Montemayor of Wylie. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren.
